Illustrated with 60 woodblock prints by Frans Masereel (1889 – 1972), Belgian painter, graphic artist and wood block engraver who worked mainly in France. A wordless novel on moods with landscapes, illustrated though original woodcut engravings by Masereel. Masereel popularized the concept of the wordless novel, using only illustrations, during the early 20th century; he completed over 40 wordless novels in his lifetime. Firm binding; light wear to boards, with some discoloration and smudging; interior is clean and free of markings.
